A new collection of painted artworks by Anneke Stewart
On show right now at CLINK in Sumner Christchurch
Opened On the 18th of October 2016.
Second viewing with artist present
23rd of October 2-6pm.
This collection explores a returning to self, finding presence, and finding a place to finally call home in light of a return to Christchurch after over 15 years of much travel and ungroundedness.
Returning brings up all the poignant moments of what this place was for me when I left, highlighting the good and the bad, the exuberant highs and the dark dark lows.
This collection has also brought me to consider my ethos as an artist and fully back its conceptual standpoint.
The compositions connect to the edges of the canvases conveying a stability that my past collection lacked. I feel this is very reflective of a notion of being grounded and established in Sumner and its community.
My journey is a deeply spiritual one, there has been many weird and wonderful moments along the way that words fail to describe, that my art easily conveys.
All works will be available online from the end of October for those of you who can't attend in person.
